A joint Colorado dissolution with no children uses seven court forms across three stages. Most returned filings come from mixing up the stages or filling in boxes the court fills in. Here is the sequence, straight from the Judicial Branch's own packet.
| Form | What it is | Who signs |
|---|---|---|
| JDF 1000 Case Information Sheet | One page of contact and case details the clerk uses to open the file. Petitioner and Co-Petitioner roles must match the petition exactly. | Filing party |
| JDF 1011 Petition for Dissolution of Marriage | The request for divorce. Every box is a question with a real answer; the court's own box at the top right stays empty. | Both spouses, as Petitioner and Co-Petitioner |
| JDF 205 + JDF 206 (optional) | Motion and proposed order to waive the filing fee, only if you qualify. | The spouse asking for the waiver |
Filing fee: $260 for the joint petition, paid to the court (Colorado Judicial Branch fee list, verified September 28, 2026). E-filing or card-processing charges are separate. The fee can change; the clerk's schedule controls.
What the clerk fills in: case number, division/courtroom and the event-code box. Leave them blank. A petition with a made-up case number is the most common avoidable return.
Colorado requires each spouse to disclose finances even when you agree on everything. Each of you files your own set:
| Form | What it is | Who signs |
|---|---|---|
| JDF 1111 Sworn Financial Statement | Income, expenses, assets, debts. The form says that checking "None" for a category is an affirmative statement that you have nothing in it — so "None" is an answer, not a way to skip a section. | Each spouse, own copy |
| JDF 1111SS Supporting Schedules | Only if you own the asset types the schedule lists (real estate, retirement, business interests and the like). | Each spouse, if applicable |
| JDF 1104 Certificate of Compliance | Confirms you exchanged the mandatory disclosure documents with each other. | Each spouse, own copy |
| Form | What it is | Who signs |
|---|---|---|
| JDF 1115 Separation Agreement | Your written agreement on property, debts, taxes and maintenance. The court reads it; it does not write it for you. | Both spouses |
| JDF 1018 Affidavit for Decree Without Appearance | Each of you swears the facts the judge needs so the divorce can be granted on the papers. | Each spouse |
| JDF 1019 Decree of Dissolution | The order the judge signs. Per JDF 1010 you complete the caption only; the findings, orders, date and signature are the court's. | Judge |
| JDF 1117 Support Order | Caption only, submitted with the decree. The body is for the court. | Judge |
Waiting period: the court cannot enter the decree until at least 91 days after the co-petition is filed (C.R.S. 14-10-106). Many joint cases finish on the papers once the 91 days and the disclosure deadline have both passed.
JDF 1011, 1111 and 1115 contain declarations under penalty of perjury. A Denver District Court Self-Help Center reply we obtained confirmed that no witness or notary is required to sign them. Sign in your own name, on the date you actually sign; do not pre-date or sign for your spouse.
FilingFoundry walks both spouses through the questions separately, transcribes your answers into the current official JDF forms, keeps every court-only box empty, and runs the same checks a clerk's desk does before you can download. You still sign, pay the court fee and file.
